Chief Executive mulling City Hall transfer -Calizo
Councilor Romeo V. Calizo expressed his agreement to the observation that Cagayan de Oro City Hall is already way far behind compared with that of other cities and municipalities in Northern Mindanao.
This after Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas delivered his special report during Monday’s regular session presided over by Vice Mayor Jocelyn B. Rodriguez proposing the transfer of City Hall to a more spacious location and to make it a one-stop-shop for the transacting public.
Even though City Hall itself is a semblance of a seeming disorder, Calizo, however, said it is not safe to assume that such undertaking should already be included in the medium and long term plan of the city government especially the Executive Department as this is already a very obvious observation.
“Because I have not yet attended a meeting of the committee (on planning and development) under our Majority Floor Leader (Councilor Ian Mark Q. Nacaya), (I don’t know if they have conducted a meeting) as regards this (matter). So with this I suggest that we communicate with the Executive (Department) because this might be already at plan on the land use as we have been discussing during our ELA seminar,” the councilor explained.
In doing so, legislators can also take a picture on the real situation at hand and see if the Executive Department have already initiated either a medium or long range development plan on the matter, Calizo further pointed out.
