CDO gets wheelchairs from Children Int’l – Phils
THE 20th City Council, in its regular session Monday presided over by Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, unanimously approved an ordinance authorizing Mayor Klarex Uy to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Children International (CI) – Philippines, Inc. covering the availment of Gift-in-Kind donations.
Under the MoU, the City Government, through the City Social Welfare Development Office (CSWDO), will receive wheelchairs to be given to Kagay-anons in need of the said medical equipment.
CI-Phils, an affiliate of Children International (a global charitable organization based in Kansas City, Missouri, USA), is a non-profit organization that supports programs on health and hygiene for the marginalized, vulnerable individuals, families and communities in partnership with local government units, schools, health facilities and non-profit organizations.
Councilor Girlie Balaba, chair of the Committee on Social Services and one of the proponents of the ordinance, said the donation will greatly benefit the vulnerable sector of Cagayan de Oro.
With this, she extends her gratitude to the men and women behind CI –Phils for choosing Cagayan de Oro and the Kagay-anons as beneficiaries of their noble program, Gift-in-Kind.
