CDC membership of landless association okayed
THE 20th City Council, during its regular session on Monday, adopted a resolution accrediting Lot 4314-I Landless Association, Incorporated to facilitate its participation in the Local Special Bodies (LSB), particularly as a member of the City Development Council (CDC).
The resolution was enacted following DILG Circular No. 2022-083 and Article 64, Rule XIII of the Rules and Regulations Implementing the 1991 Local Government Code, which stipulates the criteria and processes for accrediting civil society organizations (CSOs).

The association’s membership in the CDC, per Ordinance No. 14334-2022, emphasizes the active involvement of people's organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in local governance, particularly in planning and development processes.
By accrediting Lot 4314-I Landless Association, the City Council seeks to promote inclusivity and ensure that the voices of marginalized sectors, such as landless residents, are represented in policymaking and resource allocation.
The legislation was reviewed and endorsed by the City Council's committee on planning, research, and innovation, and people’s organization accreditation, chaired by Councilor Ian Mark Q. Nacaya, as well as the committee on laws and rules, chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas.
