Calizo cmte to discuss No Right Turn on Red Signal policy

THE City Council committee on roads and traffic management chaired by Councilor Romeo V. Calizo is set to tackle the recommendation of the Roads and Traffic Administration for amendment of Section 20, Article IV of Ordinance No. 10551-2007, so as to include the No Right Turn on Red Signal regulation.

This is in response to the special report of Councilor Roger G. Abaday few weeks ago.

In a letter, RTA Department Head Rizalino R. Borlagdatan cited that the implementation of the No Right Turn on Red Signal regulation will institute safety among the motorists, pedestrians and road users.

The RTA official attached the list of suggested signalized intersections where this policy will be implemented. These include the intersections along Vamenta Blvd-Masterson Avenue, JV Serina St., V. Castro St., Max Suniel St., PN Roa Avenue-RN Pelaez Blvd, among others.

The committee is also set to discuss the special report of Councilor Roger G. Abaday during the regular session on June 21, 2021, relative to his proposed ordinance requiring all motorcycle, tricycle, e-bike and bicycle drivers and riders to wear high-visibility vests while traveling along the national highway and in all national roads within the city from 6:00 in the evening to 6:00 in the morning and during heavy rains or typhoons.

Finally, the committee will also take up the letter of PB Maximo C. Allorin of Barangay Iponan endorsing the request of the Centro Iponan Jeepney Operators and Drivers Transport Cooperative (CIJODA TRANSCO) to retain their current route from Centro Iponan to Cogon Market and vice versa.
