Cagayan de Oro-Iligan City boundaries up for review

The City Council Committee on Arbitration chaired by Councilor James K. Judith II is set to tackle the letter complaint filed by Councilor Maria PTV Zalsos of the Tribal Council of Malumpayad, Rogongon, Iligan City, Lanao del Norte, on the planned construction of Tribal Tulugan at Man-ai of the Tribal Council of Tignapoloan, Cagayan de Oro City. Zalsos is protesting the Tribal Tulugan at Man-ai because the area is reportedly under the jurisdiction of Malumpayad which is part of Iligan City.

The committee will also discuss the letter of Vic Talinting, Punong Barangay of Brgy. Bugo, clarifying the political boundaries between Barangay Bugo and Mambatangan, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon. Bugo officials gathered that there are Mambtangan residents claiming some areas, which Talingtings believes to be part of Bugo.

In addition, members of the Land of Promise Farmers Association residing in the area are raising the same complaint concerning the boundaries. The meeting is scheduled on June 29, 2023, at 9:00 o’clock in the morning at the City Council Session Hall.
