Cabanlas looks into woes of Bulua settlers
Councilor Edgar Cabanlas, Chairman of the Committee on Urban and Rural Poor and Housing Development, is looking into the request of Lot 4314-I Landless Association Bulua, Incorporated for help in their intention to acquire a 20,795-meter lot.
According to Mr. Randy Felisilda, association president, they have already expressed intention to buy the lot, but the owner will not give them the intent to sell document, which is required by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) to formally register their homeowners' association.
Atty. Oligario Marvilla, legal counsel of the lot owner, however said through a letter that his client did not discuss with Mr. Felisilda nor with the association about any intention to sell his property. They are, in fact, awaiting the executory writ of demolition as ordered by Acting Presiding Judge Mirabeaus A. Undalok of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 21.
Meanwhile, Mr Felisilda presented another proposal to the committee in his effort to safeguard the best interest of 140 families who will be affected by the court’s decision.
Cabanlas assured the association that his committee will exhaust all ways and means to help them by forwarding their proposal to Atty. Marvilla and see what he has to say about it.
