Cabanlas inspects lots in Puerto, Bugo for residential project

COUNCILOR Edgar S. Cabanlas, chair of the City Council committee on subdivision and landed estate led the ocular inspection of properties in Barangays Puerto and Bugo.

This is in response to the application of MATIMCO, Inc. for the reclassification from Agro-Industrial to residential of lots in the area.

During the inspection, a representative of the developer said the intention of the landowner is to develop these properties into a residential subdivision project.

The project covers an area of 710,740 square meters (433,711 square meters and 277,029 square meters) under the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP).

The Gavel learned that the registered owner of the property is MATIMCO, Inc. However, it will be transferred to SM Development Corporation (SMDC). The transfer of title is still in process.

It was learned that the reclassification ordinance is one of the requirements for land-use conversion.

Representatives of the City Housing and Urban Development Department (CHUDD), City Planning and Development Office (CPDO), City Engineering Office, Agriculture Productivity Office (APO), SMDC, and barangay officials of Puerto joined the inspection.

As this developed, Councilor Cabanlas requested the CPDO, CHUDD, and APO to submit their respective comments and recommendations on the matter.
