Cabanlas backs CHED request for office expansion

THE City Council Committee on Subdivision and Landed Estate chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas immediately acted on the request of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region 10 for expansion of its office building and parking space.

During the committee meeting, Dir. Freddie T. Bernal, CHED regional director, said they are appealing for the city to allocate the vacant lot adjacent to the area for the benefit of their employees and transacting public.


Councilor Cabanlas expressed his approval of the request, saying CHED is an educational institution of the country.

With this, Councilor Cabanlas requested the Land Asset Management Office (LAMO) to coordinate with the CHED to conduct a survey to determine the actual area.


The committee likewise requested the City Legal Office to draft a Usufruct Contract for the purpose.

Councilors Jose Pepe S. Abbu, Jr. and Aga Suan were also present during the discussion.
