Cabanlas, Abaday check proposed expansion of memorial park in Upper Balulang
Councilors Edgar S. Cabanlas and Roger G. Abaday personally checked the proposed expansion of the memorial park project in Upper Balulang – Barangay Lumbia boundary.
This is in response to the application of the Pryce Corporation, developer of the project, for Development Permit for Pryce Gardens – Cagayan de Oro memorial park expansion. The proposed project covers an area of 24,464 square meters, containing 96 family estate lots.
During the inspection, it was observed that there is an existing fence between the proposed lot and the existing memorial park. The representative of the developer said that it will soon be demolished as the construction is ongoing.
DRAINAGE OUTFALL
As to the required drainage outfall, the representative said that the construction of a detention pond is also ongoing. He said it measures 250 cubic meters for wastewater which is more than the equivalent volume of the required size of a detention pond.
The developer assured to construct a new drainage outfall for the proposed expansion project.
SOCIAL ACCEPTABILITY
The Gavel learned that the adjacent lot to the proposed project is a residential subdivision. The said application was deliberated by the City Housing Board.
It can be recalled that a meeting was conducted with the City Housing Board, developer, Homeowners Association President of Bloomfields Subdivision, and Barangay Chairs of Balulang and Lumbia, to discuss the matter pertaining to the social acceptability of the said proposed project.
Accordingly, the CHB recommended the approval of the project since a Certificate of Social Acceptability was complied with and submitted by the developer, citing that some conditions shall be considered during the development stage.
Councilor Cabanlas said that the committee will tackle the matter again today to further discuss the application.
