Barangay comm to review lease renewal of Smart Communications, EDOTCO Towers

THE City Council committee on barangay affairs, chaired by Councilor Yan Lam S. Lim, will review the resolution of Barangay Nazareth, authorizing Punong Barangay Atty. Regine Beatrice T. Rodriguez to sign the renewal of a lease contract between the barangay and with Smart Communications, Inc. and EDOTCO Towers, Inc.

The new lease agreement will extend until June 2026 the firms’ use for its telecommunications infrastructure of the barangay-owned parcel of land.

Both parties intend to extend the lease under mutually beneficial terms to sustain telecommunications services vital to Barangay Nazareth’s economic and social development.

Under the Local Government Code of 1991, the Sangguniang Barangay has the authority to enter into contracts and agreements for the benefit of the barangay, subject to approval and authorization through a resolution. (JAOclarit/SP)
