Agriculture Comm to review MOA with DOST-10


The City Council Committee on Agriculture and Cultural Communities, chaired by Councilor Jay R. Pascual, is set to discuss and review the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to be entered into by and between the City Government of Cagayan de Oro and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-10) regarding the implementation of the project entitled: Utilization of Baling Machine in Support of MInAFFA’s (Man-Ai Integrated Agro-Forestry Farmers Association) Grading Baling Establishment (GBE) in Tignapoloan.


Baling Machines are used to compress recyclable waste materials into small, manageable bales. These machines are designed for high-volume waste processing and can handle various materials, including paper, cardboard, plastics, and metals. Under the agreement, DOST-10 shall allocate P887,836.52 for the purpose.


Meanwhile, the City shall spearhead the implementation of the project; provide counterpart funding for the farm inputs and implements and one (1) unit of digital weighing scale; ensure the procurement and delivery of the Baling Machine and monitor its safekeeping; coordinate and collaborate with DOST-MISAMIS ORIENTAL on all activities not limited to meetings, seminars, fora, and exhibits, to be undertaken either thru face-to-face or virtual, in relation to the project’s implementation; among others.
