Agri Comm to take up request for adoption of CSSC resolutions

THE City Council Committee on Agriculture, chaired by Councilor Jay R. Pascual, will soon tackle the request for a City Council resolution or ordinance approving and adopting various Cagayan de Oro Statistics Committee (CCSC) resolutions.

This, after City Mayor Rolando A. Uy requested the same in his letter dated August 1, 2023, to harmonize the city’s data to the prescribed uniform standards and classification systems in the generation of official statistics in the Philippine Statistical System (PSS) as endorsed by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Misamis Oriental during the 2023 2nd Quarter Meeting of the CCSC.

The CCSC approved two resolutions which include; (1) Resolution No. 1, s. 2023, Approving and Adopting the Revision in the Classification of Livestock and Poultry Farms from Backyard and Commercial to Smallhood, Semi-commercial, and Commercial Farms; and (2) Resolution No. 2, s. 2023, Approving and Adopting the New Rice Classification as Included in the 2020 Philippine Classification of Individual Consumption According to Purpose (PCOICAP).

It was learned that the City Government of Cagayan de Oro issued Executive Order No. 027 s. 2023 creating the Cagayan de Oro Statistics Committee (CCSC) that will be responsible for the planning and monitoring requirements and be capable of generating statistics that can be integrated and harmonized with the national level statistics.

To fulfill this task, CCSC shall conduct its quarterly meeting to formulate statistical policies designed to resolve statistical issues and concerns and recommend workable schemes towards the improvement of local-level statistics, The Gavel further learned.
