Agri Comm to review MOU with DPWH

THE City Council Committee on Agriculture and Cultural Communities, chaired by Councilor Jay R. Pascual, is set to review the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to be executed by and between the City Government of Cagayan de Oro and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) regarding the Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) Projects in the first district of Cagayan de Oro City.

It was learned that the DPWH Central Office, Manila, issued a Sub-Allotment Advice CY 2023 dated February 13, 2023 for the repair/rehabilitation and construction of farm-to-market roads in designated key production areas with a total amount of P27 million for the concreting of Barangays Tagpangi (P15M) and Lumbia’s (P12M) FMR projects.

The FMR projects, validated and prioritized by DA for implementation by DPWH, shall be implemented under counterpart scheme which means that the City Local Government Unit of Cagayan de Oro, shall provide a counterpart fund of not less than 10% of the project cost, as provided for in RA 8435-Agriculture and Fisheries Modernization Act (AFMA), Section 52, The Gavel further learned.
