Agri Comm to review MOA with DA-10

THE City Council Committee on Agriculture and Cultural Communities, chaired by Councilor Jay R. Pascual, is set to discuss the Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Agriculture-Regional Office 10 (DA-10) for the implementation of the Balik Probinsya Bagong Pag-asa Program (BP2).

This after City Mayor Rolando “Klarex” A. Uy, in his letter dated Sept. 22, 2023, requested for the grant of authority to represent the City Government in his capacity as the local chief executive citing the agreement is important in capacitating the identified and qualified beneficiaries of the program with skills that would strengthen and promote the sustainability of their livelihood through their participation in the Farm Diversification and Livelihood Development such as Vegetable Production and Fresh Chicken Egg Production.

The BP2 is pursuant to Executive Order No. 114 issued by the President in response to the issues of population density and urban sustainability to ensure balance and equitable distribution of wealth, resources, and opportunities through policies and programs, The Gavel learned.
