Ad Hoc Cmte seeks clean list of Ayuda beneficiaries

THE Ad Hoc Committee chaired by Councilor James Judith II will request the Commission on Audit-Regional Office No. 10 (COA-10) for a copy of the “clean list” that was used in the distribution of the COVID-19 Cash Assistance or Ayuda when the city was placed under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).

The ad hoc body, which was created under Resolution No. 1-2022 of the City Council committee on social services chaired by Councilor Joyleen Mercedes L. Balaba, convened Tuesday to inquire on the Ayuda distribution in the city.

During the meeting, DSWD-10 Director Ramel F. Jamen asserted that the document is not in their possession as the same was submitted by the city to the COA as an attachment to its liquidation report sometime last year.

The COA submitted a report to the DILG-10 which was signed by both the City Accountant and City Mayor attesting the downloaded fund was disbursed.

The report contains the figures or the total number of recipients but not the “clean list” indicating their names, Jamen informed.

“I assumed na makakuha ta importante lang naa tay request sa COA na we need this in aid of legislation. I-cc (carbon copy) na lang ni para maka intervene mi, mo-appear ko mismo sa COA and will say “please facilitate this request,” the director cited.

As this developed, Councilor Judith expressed his gratitude to the DSWD official for the gesture. He also requested the agency to present the system used by their office in cross-matching or referencing the list of recipient-beneficiaries during the next meeting of the ad hoc committee.

Vice Mayor Jocelyn Rodriguez, and Councilors Malvern Esparcia, Joyleen Mercedes Balaba and John Michael Seno, members of the Ad Hoc committee, attended the meeting.
