Achas greets Muslim community as Ramadan starts

“Ramadan Mubarak! (have a blessed month of fasting)”.

Councilor Christian Rustico M. Achas stressed this as he extended his warmest greetings to Muslim brothers and sisters around the world as they begin observing the holy month of Ramadan on Thursday, March 23, 2023.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic Calendar observed by Muslim community worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection and community.

It is a time of spiritual reflection, self-improvement, and heightened devotion and worship.

Muslims believe that Ramadan is the month when the first verses of the holy book Quran were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad more than 1,400 years ago. Muslims are expected to put more effort into following the teachings of Islam.

Councilor Achas hopes that this sacred occasion may bring them closer to the almighty, becoming instruments of peace and unity.

“Kami nagaduyog sa atong mga kaigsoonang Muslim sa pagsaulog sa upat ka semana nga Ramadan. Our warm wishes in love, hoping for the best Eid for you and your loved ones,” said Councilor Achas.
