ACHAS AIRS CONCERN ON WATER FLOW FROM HOUSING PROJECTS IN HIGHER AREAS
“KUNG ting ulan gakabahaan gyud mi sa Barangay Puerto”. Thus, manifested Councilor Christian Rustico M. Achas as he expressed concern over the drainage outfall of housing projects in the upper areas in District 2.
During the meeting of the City Council committee on subdivision and landed estate chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas, Councilor Achas made this manifestation in relation to the application for Preliminary Subdivision Development Plan (PSDP) of A. Brown Company for its proposed subdivision project Taekwood Crest Subdivision in Barangay Agusan.
The councilor lamented that Barangay Puerto has served as the catch basin of run-off water from these subdivisions.
“We should also consider unsaon nato mapangitaan og paagi nga dili tanan tubig mapadulong sa Puerto kay ang atong dike didto silted pa gihapon,” he opined.
Councilor Achas cited that the developer should establish measures to control water from flowing to neighboring areas below.
“The more nga naa’y development, the more nga daghan tubig gikan sa taas the more nga mas daghan mahulog nga tubig sa Puerto, so mabahaan gihapon atong merkado,” Achas pointed out.
For his part, Councilor Cabanlas vowed that his committee will strictly examine and inspect every development specifically during the Development Permit application.
“Ato nang bantayan sa pag-apply sa DP kung naa ba’y detention pond”, he assured. (JBDacer/SP/Photo by JRGalano)
