Abbu vows to support programs, projects of Kauswagan, other barangays
Councilor Jose S. Abbu, Jr., on Monday, vowed to support the programs and projects of Barangay Kauswagan and other barangays in the city. In his message at the flag raising ceremony of Barangay Kauswagan headed by Punong Barangay Pedro Balite, and speaking on behalf of the 20th City Council headed by Vice Mayor Jocelyn B. Rodriguez, Councilor Abbu said this is part of his pledge as city councilor towards good public governance.
Councilor Abbu mentioned that the City Council recently approved the annual budget of the said barangay in the amount of P52.8 million. This is intended for the programs and projects lined up for this year. He said the city likewise allocated funds for the rehabilitation of drainage system in Pasil (P13.2 million) and Guillermo Street (P1.5 million), both in barangay Kauswagan.
“Pipila lang kini nga mga pundo nga gihatag sa dakbayan para sa barangay Kauswagan,” he stressed.
Abbu also informed the constituents of the barangay that the city is now looking into ways to solve the housing needs of Kagay-anons. The councilor said that the City Council will conduct parallel investigation on the alleged anomalies at the City Housing and Urban Development Department (CHUDD) and an inventory of city’s socialized housing projects.
“Atong gipanumpa ug isip usa ka abogado atong giawhag nga magtawag og parallel investigation...para mahibaw-an nato kung naa man gani mga igsoon nato nga nanginahanglan og balay labi na dinhi sa Kauswagan, kung naa man gani naapektahan sa kalamidad naa’y mahatag ang dakbayan nga balay para kaninyo”, he said.
