Abbu moves to declare minority floor leader position vacant
“WE noticed that the minority floor leader (Councilor James K. Judith II) representing the minority (bloc) does not represent the interest of the minority anymore.”
This was stressed by Councilor Jose Pepe S. Abbu, in his privilege motion, during the regular session Monday of the 20th City Council presided over by City Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, as he moved to declare the said position vacant.
According to Councilor Abbu, some members of the minority bloc for the past few months have observed that critical and serious issues have already been dealt with, particularly involving the Minority Floor Leader Councilor Judith. “Dili nato ikalimod nga mga politikanhon nga kalihokan,” he said.
With these circumstances, Councilor Abbu said the minority bloc has agreed to replace Councilor Judith since he has already expressed his intention to join the majority bloc.
Councilor Christian Rustico M. Achas was eventually elected as new minority floor leader.
In replacing Judith, Abbu assured that the minority will support the programs and projects of the present administration as long as it is for the good of the Kagay-anons.
“Ang among katuyuan lang nga kon kaayuhan, dili nato babagan. Duyog kami sa administrasyon. Ang among katuyuan kon nay dagko nga hisgutan, mahisgutan og insakto ug ma-implementar sa insakto nga pamaagi,” Councilor Abbu concluded.
