Abbu highlights local fashion designers as pride of Mindanao

“Different designers from all over the islands of Mindanao showed creativity, aesthetic, beauty, and fashion”.

This was stressed by Councilor Jose Pepe S. Abbu, co-chair of the 12th Mindanao Fashion Summit (MFS), as he emphasized the talent of the Filipino fashion designers who exhibited their artistry through fashion as the pride of Mindanao.

In his welcome message during the three-day celebration, Councilor Abbu said that the MFS exhibits all fashion designs made by local or fellow Filipino fashion designers of the Oro Fashion Designers Guild (OFDG), which started in 2011 to showcase locally made world-class designs.

On behalf of the city government of Cagayan de Oro, Councilor Abbu expressed his gratitude to the OFDG, organizers, stakeholders, sponsors, participants, talents, and the Centrio Ayala Mall for making the event possible and successful.

“Let’s make our 2023 Higalaay celebration beautiful, vibrant, and exciting through Mindanao Fashion Summit”, said Councilor Abbu. Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez and Councilor Jay R. Pascual also took part in the special event.
