Abbu backs call for swift action on Laguindingan Airport expansion

COUNCILOR Jose Pepe S. Abbu, Jr. on Monday, supported the call for the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to fast track the expansion and development of Laguindingan Airport.

The councilor manifested this during the 67th regular session of the 20th City Council presided over by City Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, in reaction to the special report of Councilor Edgar Cabanlas who filed separate resolutions calling the national government to speed up the airport development.

Councilor Abbu cited that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. posted on his social media that the national government approved several projects including the upgrade and expansion of the Laguindingan International Airport.

Based on reports, the P12.75 Billion project will be implemented under the public-private partnership (PPP) scheme.
