Abaday pushes for responsible waste management with color-coded bins
COUNCILOR Roger Abaday conducted another round of distribution of color-coded trash bins to barangay offices as part of the city’s campaign in educating the public on proper waste segregation for a cleaner and greener Cagayan de Oro.
For Abaday, Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) efforts must also be strengthened in order to encourage responsible disposal practices among city residents and encourage behavioral changes which thereby lead to a healthier community, in line with Republic Act 9003, or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act.
Among the recipients were Barangay Nazareth, Puntod, Macasandig, Lapasan, and Gusa.
Councilor Abaday is the chair of the City Council’s committee on environment and the city’s Solid Waste Management Board. (FDCalotes/SP)
