₱4.8M budget of SK Bulua ok’d

THE 20th City Council, during its Monday session presided over by Presiding Officer Pro Tempore Councilor Romeo Calizo, approved the 2025 annual budget of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Barangay Bulua, amounting to ₱4,848,556.00.

The budget, sourced from the 10% general fund allocation of the barangay in accordance with the SK Reform Act, is designated to support various initiatives and operational needs of the youth council. 

The approved budget is allocated across key expenditure areas, including an honorarium for SK officials amounting to ₱972,000.00, a capital outlay of ₱300,000.00 for the rehabilitation and improvement of the barangay’s multi-purpose gym, and current operating expenses totaling ₱3,576,556.00.

The operating expenses cover essential needs such as office supplies, internet subscription, contributions to the SK Federation, and procurement of other necessary materials.

A significant portion is also earmarked for youth development programs, focusing on health, education, social inclusion and equity, peacebuilding and security, global mobility, economic empowerment, environment, agriculture, active citizenship, and governance.

The budget approval was endorsed by the committee on sports and youth development, chaired by Councilor Kenneth John Sacala, and the committee on laws and rules, chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas. (SPEscoltos/SP)
