Speed limit law of Baikingon up for review

THE City Council committee on barangay affairs chaired by Councilor Yan Lam Lim is set to review the ordinance of Barangay Baikingon limiting the speed limit of all vehicles plying barangay roads to 30 kilometers per hour.

The barangay law also prohibits blowing of horns in front of schools during class hours, and in churches during religious services, as well as in all public places.

Only vehicles used to transport patients to clinics or hospitals are not covered by the barangay law.

It imposes a penalty of P200 and community service of two days for the first offense; P300 and community service of three days for the second offense and P500 with five days of community service for the third offense. (SP)
