Dads intercede for landless residents in Brgy Macasandig
THE 18th City Council during its 121st regular session on Monday, March 25, approved a resolution earnestly requesting Presiding Judge Henry B. Damasing of the Regional Trial Court of Misamis Oriental, 10th Judicial Region, Branch 23, to hold in abeyance the implementation of the Writ of Possession issued in Miscellaneous Case No. 2003-80, for a period of 90 days.
This is to enable the city government of Cagayan de Oro to conduct a socio-economic survey of the affected residents, and to identify a suitable relocation area for them.
The case, entitled: “Ex-Parte Petition for Issuance of a Writ of Possession under Act No. 3135, as Amplified by PD 385”, involves a property owned by TCT T-56042 registered under the Development Bank of the Philippines; the Petitioner of which is DBP, and Rito Y. Bacarro the Intervenor-Oppositor.
On the same day, the 18th council also approved a resolution commending the Task Force for the Emancipation of Piso-Piso Beneficiaries, chaired by Atty. Edgar S. Cabanlas, for facilitating the titling of numerous lots in the city’s relocation sites awarded to the landless resident-beneficiaries.
Councilor Zaldy Ocon, chair of the committee on urban and rural poor, filed the said resolutions. (SP/EF)
