Winners of Oro Kalimpyo awards hailed

COUNCILOR Suzette Magtajas-Daba, chair of the City Council committee on education, congratulates the winners and participants of the Oro Kalimpyo Awards recently held at Centrio, Ayala Mall.

Seventy-six out of eighty barangays in Cagayan de Oro participated in the event.

The Oro Kalimpyo Awards consisted of urban, sub-urban and hinterland categories, and two special awards, namely: Most Functional Materials Recovery Facility, and Best in Recycling Program.

In the urban barangay category, Barangay 22 won 1st place and bagged P150,000; barangay 23, 2nd place bagging P100,000; and Barangay 24, 3rd place with P75,000.

In the sub-urban category, Canitoan won 1st place with P200,000; Gusa 2nd place with P150,000; and Tablon 3rd place with P100,000.

Meanwhile in the hinterland category, Bayanga won 1st place and bagged P150,000; Baikingon, 2nd place bagging P100,000; and Mambuaya, 3rd place with P75,000.

Barangays 25 and Tablon both won the Most Functional Materials Recovery Facility and received P10,000, while barangay Iponan won Best in Recycling Program bagging P10,000.

Daba hopes that all participating and winning barangays will continue to show excellence and give importance to maintaining cleanliness in their respective places. (SP/EF)
