Public U body to tackle request of Grab Philippines
THE City Council committee on public utilities chaired by Councilor Teodulfo E. Lao, Jr. is set to tackle the letter from Grab Philippines requesting for an endorsement to the Land Transportation and Franchising Board (LTFRB) head office for a TNVS allocation in the city.
The intention of the management to expand its operation in the city from GrabTaxi to other transport verticals such as TNVS service and GrabCar received positive feedbacks from the public, its Head of Expansion reported.
However, as mentioned by the LTFRB-10 Regional Director, the allocation base for TNVS can only be granted by the chairman of the LTFRB.
Currently, the only cities in the country where TNVS may operate include Manila, Cebu, Pampanga and Bacolod. But as per data gathered particularly on Grab’s requests versus completed rides in the city, only 60% of all ride requests were catered to due to lack of vehicles in their platform, The Power learned.
