Dads to start deliberation on budget for 2019 today
CAGAYAN de Oro City Council headed by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy will deliberate the city’s executive budget for 2019 starting today, November 27, at 9:30 in the morning at the City Council Session Hall.
In his budget message, Mayor Oscar Moreno said it is estimated that the total resources of the city for the budget year will reach a total of P6.5 billion, P5.8 from the General Fund and P619,459,219 from the Special Account-Economic Enterprises.
The City Council will take up tax Revenues under local resources which contribute P3.2 or 49.35-percent of the total budget while Non-Tax Revenue is P1,022,336,806 or 15.73 percent of the total propose budget.
The city expects external sources to reach P1.7 or 27.11-percent of the total budget of which Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) is P1.6 or 25.62-percent, an increase of about 10.13-percent from the 2018 level.
In the afternoon, legislators will also tackle the proposed budget of the city chief executive including budgets for public order and safety such as CDO Emergency Assistance/Comcenter, anti Drug Abuse Program, aid to COCPO, aid to COFD, aid to City Jail-Male Dormitory, aid to City Jail-Female & Juvenile Dormitory and aid to PDEA, among others.
