Pact with PDEA for office site OKd
GIVING all out support to the drive against illegal drugs, the 18th City Council during its regular session yesterday presided over by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy enacted an ordinance authorizing Mayor Oscar Moreno to enter into a Contract of Usufruct with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for use of the government’s lot in Barangay Macabalan as the site of its regional office building.
Under the agreement, the term for usufruct is for 25 years, renewable at the discretion of the city government.
PDEA is given the right and privilege to use the property on the condition that it is exclusively used as the site of its regional office.
Under the contract, the usufructory shall construct and maintain the infrastructures, facilities, structures and improvements in the property in accordance with existing city ordinances and national laws on environmental safety, structural integrity, maintenance and preservation, The Power learned.
The ordinance was endorsed by the committees on subdivision and landed estate and on laws and rules chaired by Councilors Dometilo Acenas, Jr. and Ian Mark Q. Nacaya, respectively.
