Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez welcomed representatives from the Embassy of Canada to the Philippines, led by Second Secretary for the Political Section and Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) Program Manager Sejal Tiwari, along with CFLI Program Assistant Selina Paguirigan, during their visit to her office.




The meeting focused on identifying potential areas for Canadian support in the city, particularly in addressing community needs and strengthening the role of local organizations in policy engagement.


It explored future collaborative efforts that align with CFLI’s commitment to supporting initiatives in key areas such as environmental protection, climate action, inclusive governance, gender equality, peace and security, and human dignity.


Through this program, Canada continues to assist local organizations in driving sustainable and impactful community development projects.


Believing in the importance of international cooperation in addressing local challenges, VM Bebot looks forward to working together with the Canadian Embassy to push for initiatives that will greatly benefit the city.


Joining the discussions were Mr. Jun Dumaug and Mr. Michael Villamor, Division Chiefs of the Legislative Support Services Division and Legislative Information Division, respectively.  (JDOpema/SP)

 


The 20th City Council, during its regular session presided over by City Vice Mayor Bebot Rodriguez, dismissed the administrative complaint filed against Punong Barangay Romeo Bacarro of Barangay Tablon.



Adopting the order of the committee on ethics and blue ribbon chaired by Councilor Edgar S. Cabanlas on BR Case No. 2024-09, the Council dismissed the said case due to the   complainant’s lack of interest to continue the litigation of the case.


It may be recalled that an administrative complaint was filed against Barangay Chair Bacarro for simple misconduct and neglect of duty, violation of RA 6713, Section 4 A and C, and Section 5A.

The legislation was sponsored by the committees on ethics and blue ribbon and laws and rules both chaired by Councilor Cabanlas. (JBDacer/SP)

Kini human mipresentar sa milabayng tigom si Acting City Veterinarian Dr. Helen Ann Tacandong sa draft amendatory ordinance.


Atol sa maong tigom, si Konsehal Ian Mark Nacaya, kinsa maoy nangamahan sa Ordinance No. 9852-2004, mipadayag sa iyang hugot nga suportado ang lakang pag-revise sa maong ordinansa, ug misugyot nga madugang ang probisyon alang sa  pagtukod og animal clinic.


Lakip usab sa iyang gisugyot ang paghimo sa usa ka division diha sa City Veterinary Office nga maoy direktang responsable sa pagdumala sa pagahimoong barangay animal control and welfare committee.


Niini, gitahasan si Dr Tacandong sa paghan-ay sa maong draft revised ordinance aron maduso ngadto sa buhatan sa City Legal Office alang sa tukmang opinyon ug rekomendasyon.


Mitambong sa tigom sila si Konsehal Aga Suan ug Bernie Esparcia kinsa mipadayag sa ilang hugot nga suporta sa maong lakang sa tinguha nga maatiman ang mga hayop panahon sa katalagman. (RNQuiblat/SP)
